Whidbey Island is gorgeous. It's rugged, dynamic and free. The turquoise waters envelope us, and snow capped mountains stand tall in the distance, even in summer. So when this darling family contacted me to ask about a session while visiting Washington from their home in California, I knew the scenery here would not disappoint. We met at Deception Pass and explored the coves, beaches and trails together. Their two daughters were the stars of the show, sharing huge smiles, giggles and laughter.

Ok ya'll, you're about to get a twin overload...but this is our first fall in the Pacific Northwest, and it's gorgeous. Like breathtakingly so. I've been really making a better effort at bringing my "big camera" out to take pictures of our adventures, rather than relying on the oh so convenient iphone.

When we moved to Whidbey Island from Oklahoma this past June, we were so thrilled to be settling into a place that had so much natural beauty and outdoor activities...but I'll admit, it was ridiculously hard to say goodbye to all the wonderful friends we made in our 8 years in The Heartland.
