Ashley & André | Deception Pass Engagement Photos | Whidbey Island

I feel like Deception Pass State Park is the epitome of PNW livin'.  Beautiful, rugged and amazing. Saturday started off as a dreary day, but as we approached sunset, Mother Nature sure brought her A-Game for Ashley and André's engagement session!  Even though the wind was whipping, we found a nice quiet cove that was blocked from the winds of West Beach and found the most amazing light that coming through the mist brought in from some pretty raucous waves.   I always love photographing a couple who is down for some exploring, and they were game to climb, discover and trek with me.  (We even got to watch a bald eagle hovering over us while we shot.)  We ended the night on the West side of the park, and I have to say, I have NEVER seen those kind of waves there before.  Salt water spray paired with a cotton candy sky gave such a dynamic effect to the photos...and of course the couple was so genuine, funny and photogenic that the only difficult part of this session was narrowing it down to which ones to share.

This fall they'll be saying their I-Do's here on Whidbey Island, and can't wait to photograph what's sure to be a beautiful celebration!  Congratulations!
